Residents and team members at Gracewell of Salisbury are welcoming all dementia carers to their Monthly Carers’ Group, in partnership with Alzheimer’s Support.
The group will provide the opportunity to socialise with other carers, discuss experiences, and enjoy a range of tasty refreshments.
Alzheimer’s Support are an independent charity in Wiltshire that provides a range of services to enhance life and promote independence for those living with dementia.
The next three sessions, to be held on Wednesdays, will be on 19th July, 16th August, and 20th September, from 2.45-4pm.
As well as taking part in the activities of the Carers’ Group, there will also be the chance to visit the home’s Teapot Club, which includes talks on memory and delicious tea and cake.
Alongside the Monthly Carers’ Group, Gracewell of Salisbury provides personalised nursing and dementia services, focused on individual needs, to all its residents.
Sandra Smith, Home Admissions Advisor at Gracewell of Salisbury, said:
“Our Monthly Carers’ Group is a wonderful chance for carers of loved ones with dementia to enjoy an afternoon of socialising and delicious refreshments.
“The dedication and compassion shown by carers is remarkable, but it is vital that they are given regular opportunities to unwind and have fun.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming carers to our forthcoming sessions, and hearing about their experiences and interests in what will be a lively and sociable setting.”
