Meet Our Team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one. Melanie Jacobs, the Home Manager, leads her team with kindness, integrity, trust, empathy and respect.

We are proud to have a great team who deliver highly personalised care with the utmost professionalism and with a genuine desire to enhance people's lives.

In addition to the care team, Melanie works closely with her administrator, activity and events planner and chef to ensure that our residents' needs are constantly being identified and truly personalised care is provided.

Melanie Jacobs, Home Manager

I started as the Home Manager for Gracewell of Camberley & Hawley in May 2016. I am originally from South Africa and came to the UK in 1998. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Honours Degree in Marketing and I am currently nearing the end of my MBA with Henley Business school. Previously, I have worked with national care providers as a home manager and care adviser. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the wonderful residents at Gracewell and supporting the team to continue to deliver the amazing personalised care we offer here.

Mel Barden, Activities Co-ordinator

I have worked at Gracewell of Camberley since 2013, initially as the Hostess and now as the Activities and Events Coordinator. I organise and manage all the weekly and special monthly events for our residents and truly enjoy my job at Gracewell Healthcare. Our home looks after over 80 residents, all of whom are special and enjoy a wide range of interests and activities.

I have been working at Gracewell of Camberley since 2013. I started as a care assistant and got to know all of our residents extremely well, and I then moved into activities and enjoyed spending time with residents doing things that they love and are passionate about. I have been in my new role for 6 months now and I love being able to bring Gracewell to more families.

I have been at Gracewell of Camberley for 14 years. I love meeting and greeting our residents' friends and families and being able to show them our lovely home. I also enjoy getting to know our residents and helping wherever I can.
