Meet Our Team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one.

At Gracewell of Newbury, we are recruiting an experienced team of dedicated professionals, all of whom undergo an in-depth training programme. Just as in every other Gracewell home, the whole team works to make sure that our residents' needs are constantly being identified and that truly personalised care is provided.

Sarah Carroll, Deputy Manager

I have now been with Gracewell for 3 years and have worked my way up to Deputy Manager from starting as a registered Nurse back in May 2014. I love coming to work every day and making a difference to our residents. I am a great believer in person centred care and that shows through my compassionate nature which I deliver daily. I have loved growing and learning the values of Grace well throughout the years and am hoping for many more to come.

My main role is to help and support families who have chosen to bring a loved one into our community. I love working for Gracewell and honestly enjoy every single day.

The best part about my role is that I can help make a difference to people’s lives and look forward to working with the principles of Gracewell.

Sandra Vilaca, Activities Co-ordinator

I've been working with Gracewell since September 2016. I managed activities for 18 years in my country, Portugal. I have a degree in Gerontology and for me to work with elderly is the most grateful job in the world. I simply LOVE it...Our home is a community where we get to know each other and where families becomes friends. This is a special and lovely home.

Vicki Harding, Head Housekeeper

My name is Vicki Harding and I am the Head Housekeeper. I have been in my role for six months. I really enjoy working at Gracewell. The Team is great and I love chatting with the residents. In my spare time I enjoy reading.

Adriano Carvalho, Head Chef

I have been employed by Sunrise since 2014 then recently transferred to Gracewell. I used to work as Catering Manager for a group of Care homes in Dorset. Also I have previously worked for Poole Hospital as a Chef. I am qualified in Special Diets and Nutrition and I have a good knowledge of Clinical Nutrition and Health Sciences. I love baking and cooking nice homemade food. My passion is to see the residents enjoy the food-this is my happiness.

Adrian Hugel, Maintenance Manager

My role within Gracewell is to make and maintain a safe secure and homely environment for our residents and colleagues. As a Maintenance Manager with years working in the care and hotel environments by mixing my engineering skills with a fun and caring personality my goal is to create a unique experience and customer satisfaction to all within my home and beyond. Always open to new and interesting things I enjoy working in this environment and happy to be between peoples with different backgrounds and personalities.
