It’s Showtime! Gracewell Of Church Crookham Launches Dementia Friendly Cinema Screenings
The team at Gracewell of Church Crookham are excited to be launching a new ‘Showtime’ series, hosting monthly dementia friendly cinema screenings. The next in this fun series will be a screening of the hit film The Wizard of Oz!
The special screenings aim to make the cinema experience more accessible to people living with dementia. The films will be screened in a fun and welcoming environment, with lights left on low, no adverts, audience participation and plenty of opportunities for audience members to get up and stretch their legs.
There will also be lots of fun games and activities taking place during the screenings and guests will be able to enjoy some delicious refreshments in the form of popcorn, ice-cream and tea and coffee. As if that wasn’t enough, the team at Gracewell of Church Crookham will be adding a retro touch by handing out old-style tickets as a throwback to the golden era of cinema.
The screenings will be taking place on the last Wednesday of each month at 11:30am and films will be selected based on requests. The next screening will show the hit film The Wizard of Oz and everyone is very welcome to come along and join the home to enjoy this cinematic treat.
