Club Tropicana comes to Gracewell of Camberley with the opening of their new Tropical Terrace

Following the grand opening of Gracewell of Camberley’s Tropical Terrace on 2nd August, residents have been making the most of the sunshine and new bar facilities.

The idea came about after the success of the Gracewell of Camberley Arms – the pub that opened at the home in April last year. Team members have been looking at the next exciting project to ensure residents have a range of experiences available to them on site. With some residents no longer able to go on the holidays they once enjoyed, the Tropical Terrace was created so that they could have a space to escape to on their own, or with family and friends.

The outdoor space in which the Terrace has been built has had a complete revamp and will remain in place for the whole summer. The area has a newly installed Tiki bar, a tropical-themed buffet and music for those wanting to dance. Additionally, for residents wanting to keep busy, there’s plenty of activities including cocktail-making afternoons and bird watching. For those who enjoy peace and quiet, the Terrace has sections covered by woodland trees so they can relax in a tropical oasis.

The Tropical Terrace has been a huge success with residents. One resident is loving it. Sylvia Harding, said, ‘the space looks so beautiful and made me feel like I was on holiday’. Similarly, resident Rita Mckay was effusive about the Terrace, saying, ‘the team went to such an effort to make this special space for us and I can’t believe how well it’s turned out. Myself and all the other residents will enjoy it for a long time to come!’

Jeorgia Jones, Home Admissions Advisor at Gracewell of Camberley, said:

“Following the success of the pub opening last year, we knew we had to raise the bar and the Tropical Terrace is a brilliant new space for residents to relax and enjoy themselves.

“It’s really important that residents in our communities can still do the activities they’ve been doing their whole lives and it’s been wonderful to hear from residents the holiday memories the Tropical Terrace has brought back to them.”
