Gracewell of High Wycombe Celebrates Second Birthday
Gracewell of High Wycombe Care Home , in Lane End, recently celebrated a special second birthday.
The care home welcomed VIP guests, including newly elected Mayor of High Wycombe Cllr Mazamal Hussain, to join its team members and residents for the party on Saturday 25th May. Alongside all the traditional birthday festivities, guests enjoyed a delicious barbeque and salads prepared by Gracewell’s talented chef Ricky, alongside Pimms, prosecco, wine and beer.
Live musical performances by Lorna James and Jean Claude entertained the guests, whilst they also enjoyed the opportunity to win one of three plentiful hampers in a raffle, a new barbeque in a game of pass the parcel, or a prize in a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ event organised by Activities Co-ordinator Sharon.
Cllr Hussain was on hand to cut the birthday cake on the big day alongside General Manager Rozina and Clinical Nurse Manager Lynette. The Mayor was also delighted to formally open Gracewell’s new in-residence shop ‘Gifts from Gracewell,’ which will sell a wide selection of new, used and donated items including locally made crafts and produce, all at bargain prices. The initiative will see a new charity nominated every year to receive proceeds from the shop, with The Alzheimer’s Society the chosen charity for 2019.
Hayley Deveraux, Home Admissions Advisor at Gracewell of High Wycombe, said:
“We were delighted to celebrate our second birthday with such a special day. The party was a huge success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we’d like to say a big thank you to Mayor Hussain and our guests for joining us.
“It was particularly great to open our new shop ‘Gifts from Gracewell,’ which will enable us to play our part in raising money to go towards the crucial work of great charities. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays at Gracewell of High Wycombe.”
