The team at Gracewell of Camberley completed a charity cycle to raise money for the Gracewell Good Samaritan Fund. They raised almost £500 cycling a total distance of 1,600km on a stationary bike they set up in the care home’s bistro.

The Gracewell Good Samaritan Fund (SGF) was established in 2002 by the founders of Sunrise Senior Living (Gracewell’s parent company). It has been created to help team members of Sunrise Senior Living and Gracewell Healthcare who are suffering severe financial hardship resulting from a catastrophic event in their lives.

The Gracewell of Camberley team embarked on their mission to ride 1,600km between them, while residents were able to watch and cheer them on in the home’s bistro. The cycle began on Wednesday 20th May, and it took a week for the team to hit their target.

Jeorgia Jones, Home Admissions Adviser at Gracewell of Camberley, said:

“We wanted to raise money for this great cause and we are so happy we managed to cycle 1,000 miles as a team. Residents cheering us on really uplifted the whole team in these challenging times. So many team members participated day and night and we are so grateful to them all.

“This cycle gave everyone a great release of endorphins through exercise and time to switch off and enjoy cycling for a fantastic cause!”
