Gracewell of Sway Supports World Alzheimer's Day with a Rock 'n' Roll Afternoon
Gracewell of Sway, on Church Lane, opened its doors and invited friends, family and members of the local area to its Enriched Memory Care event, as part of World Alzheimer’s Day on Friday 21st September.
The home put on a Rock ‘n’ Roll afternoon of offering a great selection of good old afternoon of Rock and Roll hits, which brought back memories of times gone by. There was also an exclusive performance from Retro Rita, who sang songs from the 1950s and the team got dressed up for the occasion and looked brilliant in their 1950’s outfits.
Shirley Temples and Florida Sunsets (non-alcoholic cocktails) were served during the interval and a delicious afternoon tea was served after the wonderful entertainment. The home were also lucky enough to be visited by the South Coast Cruiser club who bought with them some spectacular vintage cars – Cadillac, Jaguar, Plymouth and Vauxhall Cresta.
Helen Lennox, Home Admissions Advisor at Gracewell of Sway, said:
“The music, cocktails, afternoon tea and of course, the cars, all made the afternoon such a wonderful celebration for all residents at Gracewell of Sway, as well as the guests. World Alzheimer’s Day is a great way to raise awareness of a condition that affects so many people and we hope that more people were able to learn something new this year.”
