Nelly Sooben, General Manager
My name is Nalini Sooben and I like to be known as Nelly. I qualified as a General Nurse in 1992 and completed a diploma in Professional Studies in Nursing, followed by a degree in Health Promotion and Health Studies. I have extensive experience in the management of care homes, including a 120 bed nursing home, before joining Gracewell of Chingford. I lead a team who are very passionate about care of the elderly and we praise ourselves for all our successes. I am very proud to be part of this wonderful family. We have achieved an overall good in our CQC inspections for the last 4 years and this is the result of our hard work and excellent team work. My passion is looking after residents who live with dementia and providing them with quality care.
Kirsty Henderson, Deputy Manager
I have worked within the Care sector for over 22 years, beginning as a Care Assistant. My experience includes Nursing and Dementia care, Stroke rehabilitation, Palliative and End of Life Care. I am passionate about my role as Deputy Manager as I believe in the resident-centred care we provide. I am proud to work within a fantastic dedicated team who work hard to get to know the needs of our residents, providing them with a good quality of life. I am very open and honest and no matter how small an issue, I would like to be of service to the best of my ability, so please feel free to approach me with any questions or queries you may have.

I have always enjoyed working with older adults and was very happy to join Gracewell of Chingford in 2019. it’s a pleasure to speak with prospective residents and their families, providing them with as much information as possible, to make an informed decision. It can often be an anxious time, therefore, I take great pride in making the transition a ‘home from home’ experience. Ensuring that our residents needs are met, it is a combined team effort that is reflected in our positive on-line reviews. I look forward to welcoming new residents to Gracewell of Chingford to help them improve their quality of life.
Carissa Patterson, Home Administrator
I started my Journey in Care in 2014 working for a small Home in Hertfordshire. It was there where I gained the experience I needed to assist in building wonderful teams for our communities. As the Home Administrator I provide sales, billing, HR and payroll support to our team. I am also responsible for our Reception team who help to provide a warm welcome to anyone who steps through our doors. Gracewell of Chingford has an exceptional team of committed and dedicated employees that work together to provide a lovely home environment for our seniors. It is our commitment to our residents to deliver a quality service by enabling them to live truly meaningful lives in a luxurious setting. I am privileged to say that I work for a home that provides excellent person centred care to our Residents and wouldn't hesitate to place my own family members here.
Samantha Thompson, Activities Co-ordinator
Coming from a Hospitality and Wellness background, ensuring high client satisfaction is central to my ethos of excellent customer service. I love working as part of Team Gracewell. I am passionate about the well being of each individual resident and constantly seek better ways to help them get the most out of their day. Since joining the department in October 2018 , I have been establishing links with the local community helping to foster relationships with schools, clubs, shops and making the most of what Chingford and the wider areas has to offer.
Yani Easton, Head Chef
I have been in the catering industry for 16 years. I love working at Gracewell of Chingford with our dedicated kitchen team. They take pride and joy in cooking fresh meals, 7 days a week to our valued residents. The level of care and effort that goes into every meal really is remarkable and echoes the Gracewell ethos, that we want the very best experience for our residents. Our kitchen team are motivated to produce excellent meals and put their heart into what they do, getting to know our residents likes and dislikes is a very important part of my job.
Mel Smith, Head Housekeeper
As Head Housekeeper my role is to prompt the cleanliness of the home on a daily basis. I lead a dedicated team of housekeepers who are very passionate about their role, they make sure that the home is kept to the highest standard, as well as ensuring the safety of the residents within the home. I am really enjoying my role as Head Housekeeper, getting to know the residents and ensuring their home looks and feels at its best.
