Meet our team
It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one.
We have a wonderful happy team here at Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield, all of whom have undergone our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that our residents' needs are constantly being identified and that truly personalised care is provided and delivered.
Sarah Diamond, General Manager
I'm Sarah, General Manager at Sutton Coldfield. I am a registered general nurse with 40 years' experience. I trained at the Queen Elizabeth hospital and within the NHS. I moved into nursing homes as a nurse manager and after 12 years in post, I became a regional manager for a further 8 years. I have 14 years' experience as a home manager and the last 5 years with Gracewell Healthcare. I am passionate about elderly care and dementia. I believe it's so important to have the right team in place to care for our residents as the right care approach is reflected in our residents and their families. The Gracewell living values are in all of our team; principles of kindness, integrity, trust, empathy and respect.
I am married, I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. I love scuba diving, skiing and amateur dramatics.

Jody Sedgwick, Home Admissions Advisor
I have worked within the Healthcare sector for fifteen years and I have worked for Gracewell Healthcare for five years. I have been on a journey since joining the company and have worked across many of our sites. I jumped at the opportunity of working at Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield as this is a team I know and I have a sense of belonging here. It is a wonderful home to work within, we have an incredible uplifting energy here. Supporting families during a difficult time in their lives and overcoming some of the obstacles presented to them is a part to my role I thoroughly enjoy. I am passionate about brand standards and our residents truly feel the benefits of residing in an immaculate, happy environment.
I inherited a love for Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack from my Father and you can be sure to hear them playing in our Bistro area; luckily our residents and families love them too.
Annette Stockham, Activities Co-ordinator
My name is Annette Stockham. I am originally from a small mining village by Sherwood Forrest in Nottinghamshire. I moved to Solihull 30 years ago, I still haven't managed to pick up the Brummie accent (yet)!.
12 years ago I became an Activity Manager and luckily found my vocation. One of the most rewarding parts of my career to date was being part of a team that won the Best Dementia Team in the whole of the UK. Supporting people to live with purpose is a great passion of mine and I find my work to be incredibly rewarding. I can reach anyone’s spirit with a intuitive based approach, kindness, empathy patience, music and laugher and a bit of banter for good measure. I love being creative and creating an uplifting atmosphere is key for our residents and visitors.
My hobbies include Photography of which I have a diploma, although I am always learning. I have 2 gorgeous children David and Chealsea, and 3 grandchildren Lucas, Robin and Courtney they keep me very busy in my spare time.
Jeannette Brown, Head Housekeeper
I have worked within housekeeping for over 20 years with my last post at Aston Villa Football Club. Gracewell is the first care home I have worked in however I love the feel of our home, and our staff and most of all our residents make it a wonderful place to work. It is an honour to be looking after our residents and making sure they are comfortable in their own space as well as the other areas in the home.
My team have a great caring approach and will always have a chat with residents and help and support them as much as we can. We are all one big happy family here at Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield.
Phil Jay, Head Chef
I have worked as a Chef for 18 years and I have loved every minute of my career. I started working as a kitchen assistant at the age of 16 and worked my way up through the ranks. I was promoted to Commis Chef, Grill Chef, Sous Chef and then finally Head Chef all within the same kitchen; the training and experience I gained has been invaluable to me & fine dining has become a love of mine. I joined Gracewell Healthcare in 2015 as Head Chef and I have thoroughly enjoyed working for such a vibrant innovative company. Aspects to my role I enjoy are creative cooking for those with dysphagia and special diets. I am passionate about nutrition and healthy lifestyle but equally revel in baking cakes and desserts particularly for a Birthday!
I am a tattoo enthusiast, you wont be able to miss me if you visit. Welcome to Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield. (Photo taken during a fundraising awareness day!)
