Dementia Care

Our compassionate care teams are highly experienced and work closely with families and healthcare professionals to create individualised dementia care plans based on personal history, preferences, and the latest research from experts in the dementia care field. The aim is to enable residents living with dementia to continue to enjoy happy and fulfilling lives.

Gracewell celebrates the person you are by identifying hobbies you enjoy, the career you followed, and the music you love.

We encourage residents to bring favourite photographs and mementos that will trigger happy memories and important milestones in life. Pieces of furniture from home and other treasured items help residents settle in and feel secure.

Gracewell uses personal information and preferences to tailor activities for each resident and to create favourite meals that are appealing, balanced and nutritious.

Home Design

Gracewell care homes have been designed hand in hand with leading institutes at the University of Stirling and Bournemouth University.

Dementia Care Home Design

Our care homes utilise bright lighting during the day which has been proven to improve mood and behaviour in individuals living with dementia. Communal spaces, although spacious and airy, have been organised into smaller households to encourage residents to socialise in smaller numbers and instil confidence. Gently curved corridors create a homely feel. Themed galleries and interactive spaces provide visual stimulus and improved orientation include hand-picked images, vintage posters and original artwork from eras our residents will recognise.
